So, Star Trek 1 and 2 are bad. Duh!!!!! They made a shit load of money but sucked balls! Like how many things? Anyway, it’s being blasted and poor Simon Pegg feels the need to defend it. I mean Scotty was really awesome, so everything is okay . . . And if you work really hard then it’s going to be good . . . Really? Because that’s totally true . . . I guess we should shut the fuck up now . . .

Simon Pegg Blasts Star Trek ‘Into Darkness’ Haters: ‘F**k You!’

Simon Pegg has blasted Star Trek fans who voted this summer’s ‘Into Darkness’ movie the worst of the series, with the actor saying that he would just say “f**k you” to anybody who has criticised the film.

The movie which opened in May has been criticised by fans, but Simon has hit out at claims that the latest flick may be the worst of the franchise.

Pegg tells The Huffington Post: “It’s asinine, you know? It’s ridiculous. And frustrating, as well, because a lot of hard work and love went into that movie, and all JJ wanted to do was make a film that people really enjoyed,” he said.

“So, to be subject to that level of sort of, like, crass f**king ire, I just say, ‘F**k you’.”

Simon compared the movie’s reaction to ‘Into Darkness’ to that of “when you tire of an indie band that you love because they get a number one single”.

“Star Trek Into Darkness is the most successful Star Trek movie ever made,” he said, “It is, in terms of what it took at the box office and how many people went to see it. More people saw that film than any iteration of Star Trek that existed before. That is probably slightly annoying to some Star Trek fans – which I totally understand.”

Meanwhile, despite the film’s negative comments, it was recently revealed that Star Trek 3 should be starting filming next year.

Speaking at the 2013 Galway Film Fleadh, Quinto who plays Spock in the new series of films, let slip that everyone is keen to start work on the next movie: “Star Trek 3 should be filming, I suppose, next year. It’s going to be made a lot quicker than the last one. That’s the plan, although nothing is confirmed yet,” BuzzHub reports.

The actor was then apparently asked if he knew whether Abrams would be returning, despite the director recently being announced as the man to helm the first in a new series of Star Wars films.

According to BuzzHub, Quinto did say that Abrams, who helped Into Darkness gross more than $440 million worldwide, was planning to direct Star Trek 3 but “did not elaborate.”

If Zachary is right and Star Trek 3 receives a 2014 shoot date, it looks doubtful JJ will be on board as it was announced last month that Star Wars: Episode VII will commence filming next year.
